Foxton station is currently seeking a values-driven and self-motivated Station Manager. There is ample opportunity for an experienced manager to enhance and improve all aspects of the station, develop an effective team, and deliver tangible achievements.

Average weekly hours will be 42 hours per week, based on a 4x4 colour watch roster.

The successful candidate will have:

  • An Authority to Practice level of Paramedic
  • Demonstrated people management experience - not necessarily gained from within St John (though experience in a clinical environment and a relevant clinical qualification is required)
  • A track record in building and developing positive people and team relationships across all staff, with the result of an effective culture of positive behaviours
  • Strong coordination and organisational skills, backed up with well-rounded communication skills
  • A demonstrated proactive, can-do, problem solving approach to issues
  • A record of delivering tasks on time and to a high standard
  • A proven history of service or process improvement that benefits the patient
  • Experience in developing staff familiarity with and compliance to policy, standard operating procedures and safe practices
  • Technology/device savvy
  • Commitment to St John's core values - Do the right thing, Side by side, Straight up, Make it better, Open minds

Success in this role will come through demonstrating your own high personal standards, engaging the staff in all activities within the station, working effectively though station portfolio holders and recognising when issues need to be resolved. 

Reporting to the Territory Manager you will also assist with defining and implementing territory wide strategies, staff performance and development reviews and recruitment and retention initiatives.  There is a strong collegiate atmosphere between Station Managers within the territory, a defined focus on providing territory wide people development opportunities and a positive commitment to the value and role of volunteers.
