The Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (DPMC) occupies a unique position at the centre of New Zealand's system of democratic government. It exists to support the effective conduct of executive government by the Prime Minister, the Governor-General and members of the Cabinet. DPMC's principal role is provision of advice, on a daily basis, to the Prime Minister and Cabinet on the wide range of complex issues that confront the Government - particularly its policy priorities.

As Ministerial Coordinator you will be responsible for the management of the workflow for the Ministerial Services Team, using a workflow management tool. This work includes Ministerial and Departmental Official Information Act requests, Parliamentary Questions and Ministerial Correspondence. You will be required to provide coordination to multiple pieces of work at once, working closely with Ministerial Advisors and across business units to ensure that work meets the applicable deadlines. You will also be responsible for compiling reports and other statistical information as required.

Key responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Managing the workflow of the Ministerial Services team via the use of the workflow management tool.
  • Scanning, processing and distributing ministerial documents appropriately
  • Coordinating (including assigning and monitoring the progress of work) to ensure the effective, secure and timely flow of documents to meet applicable deadlines, quality and performance standards
  • Providing advice and assistance to DPMC staff about the processes, procedures and requirements relating to document handling, relevant DPMC accountabilities and other relevant activities
  • Ensuring all ministerial documents are tracked and monitored with accuracy
  • Contributing to other projects towards continuous improvement as required

The indicative remuneration for this role, depending on skills and experience is $53,132 to $66,415.
